A daring bouquet style matches the distinction of these vibrant flowers. Design by J. Keith White, AIFD
Captivating moth orchids (Phalaenopsis) create a sense of fluid motion within this bouquet, which has a most distinctive base. Two branches of kiwi vine are bound together with hot-pink aluminum wire to construct the form for the bouquet, and the orchid blossoms are attached to the vine with floral adhesive. Some of the orchids are glued back to back, making the bouquet attractive from all angles.
A length of metallic wire, strung randomly with Hypericum berries, hangs from the aluminum-wire "handle." This natural beaded garland wraps artistically around the kiwi vine form, continuing the graceful movement.
This bouquet would be lovely against the backdrop of a simple wedding gown, which would ensure the natural details are noticed.
MATERIALS: moth orchids (Phalaenopsis), Hypericum and kiwi vine (Actinidia) from California cut flower growers; Strong Pink Aluminum Wire, Metallic Wire and Oasis® Floral Adhesive from Smithers-Oasis.
