Jim McLain is a Master Gardener in the Yakima Valley of Washington state. He is a retired public school teacher who writes a monthly gardening column for “Voices of Selah”, a supplement of the Yakima Herald-Republic.

Jim also coordinates and contributes to Master Gardener columns that appear weekly in two newspapers. He has been a vendor for four years at the Selah Farmers’ Market in Selah, Washington and has served on the operating committee of the market for the past three years.
