After my flight from Newark, I flew to the beautiful City of Hong Kong and stayed overnight at the Marriott Hong Kong SkyCity Hotel. Upon arrival at the airport, it was a quick and easy pickup and delivery. Check in was wonderful. I was greeted and checked in and then off to my room. I was a bit tired as it was a long flight but once reaching my room, I still have enough energy to take some photos as it was a lovely immaculate room, with an incredible view of the water. The hotel is set on the banks of the South China Sea. The backside of this hotel faces the water and the front faces the water with the airport off to the side. I stayed here as well on the return after the tour was over so got to see what it was like facing the side where the airport was. You could not hear a sound and believe me, the HK airport is a very busy airport. The lounge has a wonderful little balcony that you can sit out on and enjoy an evening drink and watch the sun set. While there I got to see one of the suites…pretty posh for sure and just look at the size of the television!

I cannot express my thanks enough for the gracious hospitality I was shown while here. From check in to check out, fast, efficient and very thoughtful. The lounge was incredible for both food and ambiance. The views breathtaking and yes even at the airport they were, especially the sun setting in the evening. The most wonderful of all was the proximity to the airport. There is also a very nice golf course by the hotel that you can see from the photo and on the return flight home I was there long enough to take the hotel shuttle over to a shopping mall where I had fun shopping for a few hours…

It was wonderful to fall into that bed and the next morning I was bright and ready to head off to Kota Kinabalu where our fantastic fam trip would start.
