We checked out of the hotel and went to visit the Taman Botani Gardens
or botanical gardens. This garden is just around three years old. Can
you believe it? Please do because if you were there you would understand
why.
It is incredibly warm and humid here in Malaysia and everything grows so
quickly. This garden contains about 700 species from over 90 countries,
including over 50 species of palms. At 230 acres this will truly be an
impressive garden when completed. Only phase one of three is open to
visitors right now. As you can see by some of these pictures, it truly
was a wonderful start to the tour. www.putrajaya.net.my
We then visited the Prime Ministers Residence where there were no photos
allowed inside the gates but I did take one outside the gates with the
pink interlocking brick road.
Next was a visit to the Putra Mosque – that is the building you see the
outside of in the water, then some shots of the inside and of course the
three of us ladies dressed for entry into the Mosque (I am the one on
the
right) After that we spent some time in the Square, an area full of
stalls, shops and great food! From there we headed towards the airport
and a stop at Restoran Sri Sepang for some excellent Chinese food. KL
Airport is about the cleanest airport I have ever been in…not a speck of
dirt and easy to get around in. I have included a picture of the inside
of the building so you can see what I mean by clean.
We leave for the short flight to Miri and arrive at our hotel Parkcity
Everly and head to dinner. I have included a view from my room of the
water plus my room, the outside of the hotel and the drive showing the
red carpet…we didn’t realize it at the time, but the King and Queen of
Malaysia were staying at our hotel as well for the Festival that we
would be attending.
