Another must visit place...Kew
looks absolutely huge from the layout, but once you get walking about, everything is
within very easy walking distance...I just about missed Kew Palace in fact. I saw this
small building and was taken with the colour of it and didn't realize that was Kew
Palace...very small in comparison to what I thought a Palace should be but there it is!
The Palm House was fantastic! The smaller building to the right of it is actually one big
indoor waterpond full of water lilies. The next three are at the Princess of Wales
Conservatory completed in 1986.
The giant Amazon waterlily is just starting to grow - the leaves will grow up to three
metres across! Patrick and Bernadette look very happy in this setting....the last one is
of the Temperate House...now
if you think the Palm House is big (and it was!) you should see the inside of this
building. It was built in stages between 1860 and 1898 and is 4,880 square metres! In this
picture I am in the middle of the building and have taken a picture of one half of
it...Kew contains three of the world's greatest glasshouses and was an absolute must to
see....
