Royal National Rose Society
Garden of the Rose

For a rose lover, you would think you had died and gone to rose heaven here...over 30,000 roses in bloom - outstanding! We had one registrant who was not into roses and she took the opportunity to visit St. Albans (once an ancient Roman city). Everyone was happy! As you can see by the pictures, it was an incredible experience to be surrounded by so many different types of
roses ... can you smell them?
The white rose covering the building is called 'Kiftsgate' and the close up if of the same rose so you can see it more clearly.
A 20 Million pound rose garden is to be built in remembrance of Diana, Princess of Wales on a 50 acre site located near here with the backing of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, the Prince of Wales and other members of the Royal Family. The garden will take up 6 acres. There are also plans for two other major gardens in honour of the Queen and the Queen Mother.
