GWA Symposium
Long Island, NY
September, 2004
Monday - breakfast to start, then the GWA meeting and sessions to follow.
Then we were off to the Gold Coast and the public gardens. Old Westbury was
the first. This is one of the premier public gardens on LI. It is home to an
All-America Rose Sections trial garden and a fabulous English walled garden,
plus so much more. This garden was created by a 19th century tycoon as a
wedding present for his bride who missed her native English flower gardens.
Well, I am sure she was very happy here, because I felt like I was back in
England!
