May 25th was a free day for all of us and I spent my day by visiting
the V & A Museum where Vivienne Westwood had an exhibition
celebrating the last 34 years of her fashion career. Her influence
on the fashion world has been stunning to say the least and what I
most enjoyed about this exhibition is the fact that there were so
many young designers in the making there, taking photographs or
drawing, trying to capture a sense of her style. Truly amazing
judging by a couple of photographs I have here for you to enjoy.
Then I walked to Harrods because I wanted to see their 'Fantasy
Gardens'.
All the windows had beautiful displays of miniature gardens
including Diarmuid Gavin's conceptual window. Their were 40 in total
by top designers from Dior to Peter Rabbit. Then to get a Krispy
Kreme doughnut! I got there and was standing in line with my 90p to
pay for it when the lady hands me a doughnut saying it was free and
to enjoy! Harrods giving away something free? Oh happy day! So I
took my doughnut and walked down through Hyde Park and visited the
Rose Garden where I caught glimpse of a most beautiful iris, then
down to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain that was not
even open, then past the Albert Memorial, Royal Albert Hall and
finally rested my sights on this Ducati motor bike that I knew Tom
would like to see. A very relaxing and wonderful day.
