The Garden at Bodnant
Colwyn Bay, North Wales
This 80 acre garden is one of the finest in
the world, situated above the River Conwy and looking across the valley towards the
Snowdon range. The garden is in two parts. The upper part around the house consists of the
Terrace Garden and the informal lawns shaded by trees. You will see statues, and a lovely
William Kent bench.
The lower portion, The Dell, contains the Old Mill waterfall, Pinetum and Wild Garden.
Masses of bulbs in spring make a colourful display. Rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolias and
camillias flower. Famous Laburnum Arch.
This was the last garden on our tour and what a treat!! The weather was warm and sunny and
the gardens were happy! This is only a small sampling of pictures
I have many more of
this garden as well
the walks, the views, the plants, the colours, the glasshouse,
the statues
I could go on and on here
suffice it to say, I think this was a
smashing way to end the tour.
I have been very lucky to have great travel planners in Ward's and Enterprise
I have
been blessed to have a wonderful, knowledgeable guide during our tours and super coach
drivers who are not only nice people, but careful drivers who make you comfortable along
the journey.
