Chelsea Flower Show
May 22-30th, 2007
May 25th, Friday
This was the first of our two days of
leisure so after having a great breakfast I set out to discover…you know by
now I enjoy taking pictures…these are my memories, so I take a lot..I love
to look at how people plant. I am also infatuated with doors…I like to peek
inside gates too ? I spent some time in the garden shop, the Chelsea
Gardener, then on the way I passed through St. Lukes Park, a lovely quiet
place to rest and the church beside it was beautiful to look at. I got to
the Sloane Square area to find some fantastic displays that the shops had
put together…of course you can pick out the Tiffany Shop. Then to Peter
Jones to look in the windows at the hats…inside one set of doorways they had
on either side these little window displays and signs indicating that they
had a special High Tea. I did go to the café but just to have a latte
because I was really wanting one, I needed to rest from all the walking I
did. I was amazed at this café, not only was I allowed to sit by the windows
to enjoy a view 5 stories high with just a latte, but the fellow who made it
was from Italy, so you can bet it was a great latte!
On my way back to the hotel, I walked past a street where the homes were
very unusual…they were all painted brick. As you can see, it was so
different from any other street and I guess it is the latest thing to happen
now.
