Chelsea Flower Show
May 22-30th, 2007
May 24th, Thursday Our Day at Chelsea!
Chelsea always surprises me and this year
was no exception…I thought the gardens were incredible and listening to
everyone on the news, it was by far the best Chelsea that I had seen since
1995. Get a cup of tea and sit down for awhile as you are going to want to
go through every one of the pictures I took this Chelsea…we also met with
Suzanne Gaywood, who was the head designer of the Grenada booth…they won
Gold this year so the group was indeed happy and proud!
I had agreed to meet up with Veronica after
we were both finished at Chelsea and we walked down the road a bit along the
Thames to the Chelsea Physic Garden. This is London’s oldest Botanic Garden
and a joy to wander through. It can be a wee bit hard to find the entrance
as most of the garden is surrounded by a big stone wall…once inside you are
in a different world –it is hard to remember that you are in the center of
London. A beautiful place to wander and learn which also includes a very
busy café and a giftshop. We then continued walking back to our hotel
enjoying the little nooks and crannies that London is so full of…..see those
little sheep? They were over a doorway and we loved the look of them there.
The garbage bins had built in gardens on top of them…or how about the sign
we saw…it’s a ‘bye’ law! This is truly the way to discover London…just get
out and walk!
